About the team:

Join the team behind the 2022 Apple iPad App of the Year. Reporting to the Japan Growth Manager, you will play a crucial role in expanding our presence in the Japanese market through social media, particularly Instagram. As our presence in Japan continues to grow, we are in need of a dedicated Social Media Manager who can help us consistently deliver valuable and engaging content, acquire more users, and foster a vibrant community. Your responsibilities will include managing our official Japanese Instagram content calendar, from content planning to execution and reporting. Additionally, you will be responsible for gathering user insights to drive continuous account growth. Our team is highly international, with your future colleagues located across Asia and Europe.

About the role:

This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:

  • Content Strategy: Develop a content plan based on Japanese user research to engage our audience effectively
  • Creative Design: Create visually appealing Instagram posts following our brand guidelines
  • Content Posting: Publish 3-4 posts per week with compelling copywriting to maintain a strong online presence
  • Influencer Collaboration: Collaborate with Japanese influencers, and negotiate reposting their content on our official Instagram account
  • User Insights: Gather and share valuable user insights and findings with the team to drive growth and improvements
  • Account Growth: Implement strategic initiatives to increase our Japanese Instagram account's follower base and engagement
  • Performance Reporting: Share monthly performance reports with the global social media team, have bi-weekly calls with your hiring manager, and participate in monthly calls with your global social media team
  • Community Management: Manage external communication with our users through DMs and comments, ensuring a positive user experience
  • Working hours: A minimum of 15 hours per week.

The skills you will need to be successful in the above:

  • Strong communication skills, fluent in both written and spoken Japanese and English, with a background in copywriting
  • Understand the Japanese market trends and our users' insights thoroughly
  • Over 3 years of experience in a social media role within a B2C product company, with a specific emphasis on Instagram management
  • Proven track record in planning and executing social media campaigns from inception, encompassing various elements such as Social Media Ads, Community Engagement, Partnerships, and more
  • Proficient in maintaining a high-level understanding of brand aesthetics, enabling the creation of Instagram-specific content
  • Skilled in graphic design and proficient in using tools such as Canva and other editing software
  • Adept at navigating the ever-changing landscape of social media algorithms and trends
  • Experienced in collaborating with global teams and effectively communicating performance reports and insights
