About Us
Opaque Systems is a data privacy startup born out of UC Berkeley. Our founding team comprises leading computer science researchers in security and systems with extensive prior entrepreneurship experience (Databricks, Anyscale, PreVeil). We've raised $22 million in Series A funding, bringing the company’s total financing to $31.6 million. The round was led by Walden Catalyst Ventures, with participation from new investors, Storm Ventures and Thomvest Ventures, as well as all existing investors, Intel Capital, Race Capital, The House Fund, and FactoryHQ

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and can thrive in a startup environment.
Some of your responsibilities may include:
- Lead and mentor a small team of SREs
- Design and implement automated build, test, and other environments (production, staging, demo, qa, etc)
- Develop and extend a robust and comprehensive CI/CD workflow
- Understand customer requirements and convert them into project deliverables
- Define production SLAs and make sure they are met
- Manage and troubleshoot incidents, and analyze root causes
- Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures for continuous vulnerability assessment and risk management.
- Support SOC, HIPPA, and other compliance, and assist with customer security questionnaires.
- Establish meticulous engineering processes to enforce high quality engineering
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or related role
- Experience leading a team of 3-5 engineers
- Effective leadership, organization, and cross-functional communication
- Experience building infrastructure and tooling from the ground up.
- Knowledge about hosting multi-tenant solutions with hybrid deployment models
- Hands-on production experience working with:
- Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- At least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- A scripting language such as Python or Bash
